Description
Voter Access Organizers will be responsible for recruiting and managing volunteer relationships in order to ensure all eligible Kansas voters are able to access the ballot this fall. Kansas is the most important battleground state in 2026, with highly competitive elections at all levels, including electing Adam Hamilton to the US Senate. Organizers will report to the Voter Access Director. This position is full-time, and is a hybrid opportunity. We would hope that successful applicants would be able to join us for the final stretch in Kansas. No experience with Voter Protection necessary, but an interest in Voter Protection work is essential. All training is provided.
Requirements
Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
Strong interpersonal skills, and desire to help Kansas voters access the ballot by all methods available to them by law.
Valid driver’s license, internet, and a cellphone.
Strong communication skills - must be able to speak with all kinds of voters.
Excellent time management skills, flexibility, and a willingness to problem-solve effectively.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work long, irregular hours - including weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruit, manage, and train volunteers to participate in Voter Protection activities; including but not limited to volunteering on the Voter Hotline once voting begins and volunteering in person as a poll observer in key counties.
Implement strategies to meet daily and weekly organizing metrics, adhere to KDP’s established statewide data standards, and ensure accurate data collection for all recruitment activity.
Support volunteers by providing regular 1:1 meetings, training, and local campaign meetings.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Coordinated Director and Voter Access team.
