Description
The campaign of Matt Brewer for Mayor of Chicago is seeking a Campaign Manager to begin immediately. The full-time position is based in the City of Chicago. The position runs through Friday, February 26, 2027, with the opportunity for an extension through Friday, April 9, 2027, should the campaign advance to a runoff election.
Develop and execute the overall campaign strategy and path to victory in coordination with the candidate and campaign consultants.
Manage the campaign’s day-to-day operations and ensure campaign priorities, deadlines, and goals are met.
Manage the candidate’s schedule and prioritize the candidate’s time across voter contact, fundraising, community engagement, political meetings, and campaign events.
Develop and manage the campaign budget, monitor spending and cash flow, approve expenditures, and ensure resources are allocated strategically.
Develop and execute the campaign’s endorsement strategy and manage endorsement processes, questionnaires, interviews, and follow-up.
Develop relationships with community organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to expand the campaign’s reach.
Prepare the candidate for debates, forums, editorial boards, endorsement interviews, press interviews, community meetings, and other public appearances.
Establish systems for internal communication, calendars, campaign meetings, reporting, and accountability.
Requirements
1-2 cycles of political experience preferred; at least some experience working in a political, non-profit, or community organizing capacity. Native and/or solid experience in Chicago is essential.
Familiarity with VAN voter contact software and NGP fundraising software required.
Self-starter who takes a proactive approach to their job.
Good time management skills and strong attention to detail.
Access to a cell phone and laptop is required. Access to a vehicle is preferred.
Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities, serve as a team leader, and maintain a sense of humor.
