United Today, Stronger Tomorrow (UTST) is seeking a motivated, people-first Civic Engagement Organizer to build grassroots power, recruit volunteers, and protect voter access in rural and small-town communities across Iowa.
The Details
Pay: $30 – $40/hour (based on experience)
Status: 40 hours/week | Contract through December 2026
Location: Remote in Iowa (Requires regular travel to NW Iowa: Sioux City, Council Bluffs, Fort Dodge, Storm Lake)
Key Responsibilities
Mobilize: Recruit and train volunteers via canvassing, phone banks, and outreach.
Protect: Lead nonpartisan get-out-the-vote (GOTV) and voter assistance efforts.
Verify: Coordinate Election Day polling place observation and voter support.
Sustain: Organize post-election community meetings and track local concerns.
Requirements
Experience in community organizing, civic engagement, or volunteer coordination.
Commitment to respectful, nonpartisan engagement across diverse perspectives.
Reliable transportation, a laptop, a smartphone, and internet.
Flexibility for evening/weekend activities and full availability on Election Day.
Bonus: Experience with VAN / EveryAction.
